• Contact and product enquiries — name, email, company, phone (if given) and your message, to answer you and follow up on the assignment or product. Legal basis: legitimate interest, or steps before a contract.
• Job applications — name, email, country, the role, your message and the CV you upload, to assess your application. Legal basis: steps before an employment contract and legitimate interest.
• Security data — a one-way scrambled (hashed) version of your IP address, to stop spam and abuse. We never store the address itself.
• Website usage — only if you accept analytics or marketing cookies (see below). Legal basis: your consent.

• Enquiries: up to 24 months after our last contact, unless a customer relationship follows.
• Applications and CVs: up to 24 months after the recruitment closes, then deleted — sooner if you ask.
• Analytics data: up to 14 months in Google Analytics.

Only the Updal staff who handle your enquiry or application can read it. Data is stored with our hosting and database providers within the EU/EEA where possible. Google receives usage data only if you consent to cookies, and when the embedded map loads. Google may process data outside the EU under the EU–US Data Privacy Framework. We never sell personal data.

You can ask to see, correct or delete your data, limit or object to how we use it, take a copy of it, and withdraw consent at any time. Contact us through the contact form. You can also complain to the Swedish Authority for Privacy Protection (IMY), imy.se.
